Recording high-quality audio at home, and my first forays into voice acting
These are great tips! I'm starting to record some of my Substack essays and I realized that I really have to smile and emote whenever I'm reading; otherwise, I sound bored. That an practicing the material multiple times have been very helpful!
That’s great. I have done that once or twice, but often am tired enough from writing and/or drawing that I don’t have the energy left to record. Re-recording would be even more intense!
One thing I wondered was maybe using recording as a “thinking out loud” version, and then the written version is kinda finalized after that. I’m not sure how it would turn out, as listeners probably just want the same product. But I do know that talking through a topic really helps me write it. So if it’s either recording that or no recording, could be worth a try?
